Long Road to Istanbul for Armenia’s Women’s Basketball Team

Yerevan basketball team Hatis captain Bojana Vulic hopes that the Armenian team will play well in the game with Istanbul’s Besiktas CT taking place in Istanbul today.

“We reached Istanbul with great difficulty. We waited in Tbilisi for 15 hours, only after which we headed for the court where the game will be played. And now we are in Istanbul. All this was tiring, but the team’s spirit is in place and we’ll persevere today,” said Hatis’ captain, while speaking with an ArmSport.am correspondent.

The 25-year-old Serbian basketball player is well acquainted with Besiktas because at one time she played in Turkish basketball clubs.

“Today’s Besiktas has certainly changed from the team I knew in the past. It’s a strong opponent, but we have already proven that we can win. Few people believed in our chances in the game with Russia’s Chevakata, too, but we won.”
